how to recognise different signals sent by remote control like a dvd remote control??

i was using TSOP n LM325 but it is reponsing for each key of remote :(

please help...

i m well use to with Atmega16

Modern IR remote controls use coded pulses. A TSOP IR receiver produces the coded pulses at its output. A micro-controller with suitable software can decode the pulses into useful control signals.
