Hi, i'm a novice in electronics, but deeply interested of late, this would be my first electronic project & i need some help..

As regards to telephone recorder circuit,

the mic jack is the mic recorder right?
and whats the remote control jack

Yep

Have you ever used a tape recorder with a microphone input jack? Most of the time they also include another nearby jack that serves the purpose of connecting to the on/off switch on your microphone. The "remote control jack" is just that. It controls whether the tape deck is recording or not.
