I have a coil that has a resistance of 250 ohms. I want to power it with 12 volts. How do I calculate how many amps are needed to power the coil? Do i use the equation: I=E/R ? Or how do i determine the power ratios needed? Thanks.

The coil will draw 12V/250ohms= 48mA. Its operating power is 12V x 48mA= 0.576W.
