Don't like your little brother's TV channel selection? Hate the volume your wife sets the stereo at? Want to just annoy someone? This circuit does all that and more by jamming most IR remote signals. The circuit releases a flood of pulsing IR light that confuses the reciever by corrupting the data stream. |

sir i like this kind of project.sir can we use any other kind of transistor instead of this mention above?
i have made this and its working .... thanks for sharing just want to know if there is any relation for finding the exact values of the variable resistors to be used instead of R3 for a specific frequency.... or a frequency dependent formula you can provide me with the basic calculations ... regards
Would this work in jamming a Sumo Robot's IR sensor?
sir, can you please tell me transistor equivalent to those two 2n4403 and 2n4401, because it is currently not available in our city.
Is this model#: CML105M50 from radioshack an appropriate capacitor for C2 in the circuit? And what is the desired ma and voltage specs on the high output ir leds?
the projects WORKS!!! just be carefful when connecting the transistors!!! I made a mistake whit Q1, but then i cheked the datasheet ;)
Does the jammer really work? I dont mean that in a rude way but i built the jammer and it doesnt work. If it does work than what are the common problems that might be the reason mine doesnt work. Also, is there a variable resistor in the jammer? If so where is it on the shematics? sincerley AJ
USE A 10K variable resistor instead of the reg. 10k, this way you can change frequencies instead of having the circuit just set to one. *Also I removed the R1 component because the lights don't even come on unless you do.
what is the expression for freqency of the circuit
Here is a microcontroller based IR Jammer. I bought the kit version and assembled it in about 15 minutes. It kills everything I have tried it on! Here are the details. http://www.instructables.com/id/IR-Remote-Control-Jammer/ Here is the kit (or you can just make your own from the plans) http://alan-parekh.vstore.ca/ir-jammer-kit-p-116.html
Could you tell me the functions of each component? can you give some reference of this?
sir i can't get that transistors so can u tell me that instead of them which other transistor or parts can implemented?
hello i made one when you look at the ir led through a caera u should be able to see it light up should it be flashing or continously on mine is continosly on and were must u stand wat frequency does it jam wats its range pls email me with all of the informatrion about tit i need all info pls
if i am using 9 volt , What R5 should i use and what LED ??
A pot of what resistance range should be used in this project
Hey stupid, de-solder one led leg problem solved!
in place of Q1 &Q2 which other transitor may be used
what is the resistant of the pot? maximum and minimum
can you just tell me how is works? any remote can do the job?
The project is really good. But anyone can tel me it is fully working or not. Because 2 times I tried but failed. Please reply me as soon as possible.
I am a beginner in electronics and I am interested in this particular project.Could you tell me the functions of each component?
Sir how can i increase the range n can we increase the frequency by replacing the IR LEDS wiv the higher ones??
I understand how the circuit works and such, But i'm having a hard time putting that schematic onto a proto/breadboard (I never was good at converting that)
You guys make me sad. A pot is short form for a potentiometer, basically a variable resistor. If you don't know that or want to try to build this and you don't know what the different parts do, or even where to buy them, then I suggest not building this. Use your head, i.e. use wikipedia and google. Try www.abra-electronics.com for most parts at very decent prices
Pot = Potentiometer | ||
A Potentiometer or "pot" is a type of resistor. The volume knob on a stereo or a light dimmer are a couple examples I can think of.
dear , please let me know the range of variable resistor .or using some some powerful led's could be helpfull or not.
IS there any problem if i use 2n4402 pnp transistor instead of 2n4403..... and wat if the circuit is closed for a prolonged period....Does this affect any component.....because my circuit makes a small screechy noise after say 5 or 10 minutes....everything else is done as mentioned above.....
I think a "Pot" as a non conductive screw driver type tool so that you can ajust a verible component
Whts its range? | ||
I am a beginner in electronics and I am interested in this particular project.Could you tell me the functions of each component?
I was wondering if anybody knew why a remote control for a tv gives 38khz I know it's becouse the reciever is attuned to this but why did they pick 38khz and not 40 or something
sir i cannot find the transistor 2N1100 and neither it's other germanium replacements sir can you tell me its silicon replacements it's urgent
what is pot? | ||
where do you by 10nF Ceramic Disc Capacitor and 1uF Electrolytic Capacitor
this project is not working. . . how's that? ive try this. .
short range. working though.

could u plz help me to do a project about the IR remote control jammer.. i wana know more information about it,, theory of operation. procedures. circuit diagram. results. conclusion
if i use the potentiometer and not R3, i' ve 3 way, where i must connect they ? execuse me, but i' m not english, i not speak it very well
pls send me working of IR REMOTE CONTROL JAMMER..
Is it possible that this similar technology (IR LED's used in Wii sensor bar array, when provided voltage) could be jamming our Insight cable remote? Nintendo thought my question to them about this issue was unusual. If the IR LED array is getting voltage in standby mode and emitting, it would seem feasible to me that IR interference is occuring.
I am student of B.Sc. electronics I want to couple this project with microcontroller ( it's remote vehicle) please sir can I get some information about it. THANKS YOU.
kindly explain the working of ir remote jammer.
i am student of Msc physics(electronics) plz explain the working of IR jammer
i m an electronics student dng engineering..... i want to do a project as i m in final year so plzz cud u provide more information regarding remote jammer
RE: is there a jammer circuit for FM radio without IR reciever ..... Answer: Yes, an FM transmitter will do the job. Careful though, the FCC tends to frown upon the idea of harmful interference, whether intentional or not.
does it actully function as a remote of just interfare it
please tell me the relation between the frequency at which the circuit is working and the RC parameters.....
i have a kid across the street with an annoying remote control car that is loud. Would this help? (Editor's notes: No.) |
||
is there a jammer circuit for FM radio without IR reciever
Sir, I am designing a autonomous robot that can sense digs, stones, and canyons. Sir my photo transistor(TSOP1738) receiver and IR transmitter does not working because I am not able to generate exact 38kHz frequency from NE 555. plz sir help me....
Can u please give the full details of this and post it on the web.
Sir i am preparing to do this project in my college,so can you give the working of it and other details, it would be of great help to me
hello sir, i want circuit of changing resistor value with remote control.thank you
Has anyone tested it???
respected sir, i want to make it for my electronics project termwork's project. if u please give full detail of this project with all diagrams, pcb layout and other diagrams . also give detail how it works with working principle of all parts. thanking you. plz reply very soon. plz mail it to suraj.kuri@rediff.com as soon as posible ! thanking u !
What you see here ARE the full details. The circuit is extremely simple and just flashes the IR LEDs at a certain frequency, so the TV's IR reciever is flooded in IR light and can't detect the remote control. You can't expect the author to write your term project for you.
sir..i want details about tv remote control blocker and how the device working..then,i want to know how all the part working.i very interest about this device..thank you.
dear sir, i want to make it for my electronics project solo project. if u please give full detail of this project with all diagrams, pcb layout and other diagrams . also give detail how it works with working principle of all parts. thanking you. plz reply very soon and than a lot of ur cooperation
thank you very much for this

its nice to have someone thinking about remote like me....
hello sir, I am a student of ECE. I am quite interest to now more about this IR REMOTE JAMMER.I will be more thank full to you if you mail me the full content of this text. Thank you
Aaron has said in other entrys that he does not use the NE555 because in his region they cost over $5. if you know how the chip works(wikipedia) it shouldnt be that hard to make your own just play around with the frequency.
this circuit does not work. i have done the same parts value but it did not work, even i have repeat the circuits three times also it did not work. please make sure of your schematic again, please reply me.
what changes need to be made for it to run of a 9V battery?
thnx. good fr projects.....troubling the neighbours
Forgot to say - the roadworks ones ran at about 1 Hz - a bit slow for an IR remote. But it has to be that slow to be seen behind full-beam headlights. Just like an IR reciever can see the remote even when your 2KW heater's going full blast and the sun's shining in - it ignores the constant light, just sees the changes. But I guess that's obvious.
Nice one. As a matter of interest this circuit was used in those flashingyellow lights put round roud works. So if you don't know how it works ask a roady
Please tell me something about the circuit of zemmer and the function of differnt parts. Why we use only 555 timer. Can we something other instead of 555 timer
I was wondering if u can e-mail me more information about the the circuit and its theory?? Thanks very much :) hughesy
Hey, could you please send me more information, thanks !
I WANT SOME MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS WILL YOU SEND TO ME.I WILL BE THANKFULL TO YOU.
Plz help me construct a simple ir r`emote jammer using readily avail. transistors and 555 ic.if u have a circuit email me at
I constructed the ir jammer but it doesnt work. Can u tell me about any ir jammer circuit with ordinary and readily available transistors using a 555 ic. Plz help me and email me on my address
Hey Guys, I'm a middle school student who knows little to nothing about circuits, schematics, etc. (ironic considering I want to be an Electrical Engineer). Anyway, I didn't understand anything about how to build the jammer so could you help me out by explaining how to build it. Thanks!!!
i have a question you wouldn't happen to have the foil design to make the circuit would you?
I'm going to try it out | ||
can i use Infrared Remote to control my light & fan in the room
Plz Give me Info & Circut That How I can MAke my Remote Control Device Which Work TO drive A Motor Through Infrared device Plz Provide Me its Circiut
does it work | ||
in i.r. jammer ,if we use 555 timer as astable multivibrator, how will modulation occur(as in i.r. remote control).please explain working along with functioning of I.R. LED's in this case.. Also give field of application of i.r. jammer and upgrades for higher applications.
what kind of pc board does the ir remote jammer use?can you get it at radio shack?
does this ir remote jammer allow you to change to the channels you want to while jamming the other persons remote?
do you have a picture or model # for the ir jammer pc board? jeremy
I think the ir remote jammer is a halarious prank to use on someone
this jammer is the simplest of all jammer.this will enable us to see the channel what we want.t
it is very cheap & simplkest jammer
In a similar way,can we jam Iris recognition reader ,which uses near IR illumination between lense of the reader and Iris of the subject for capturing the image.
Does this circuit use a 50/50 duty cycle?
may you please tell about the functioning of each component of the circuit ar atleast explain the functioning of the circuit;the working principle and so.......i will be very thankful to you for your guidance and support...waiting for a reply (Editor's notes: Search the forum.) |

hi plz tell me how long it affects the rx, and on what things it can be effectively used without damaging the rx ir the equippment. also is the range varriable? thanks
Considering that most IR receivers now work around 38kHz would it not be easier to just use a 555 running at 38kHz with a 50/50 duty cycle?
Im looking for a circuit for a laser speedtrap detector,i can only find reder deectors. What is the chance that this thing could work for speedtraps?
what voltage are C1 & C2 ?
can you explain the function of each transistor and resistance and y did you choose them? please............... I submitted this as a mini-project with some alteration. Now I'm in problem!
no it wouldnt ruin it it would just jam it for as long as u had the button down
does this thing ruin the reciever? or is it jsut a temporary jam? if so, how long does it last?
this is very cost effective circuit and use full to create noise less environment.. |
