I intend to use the time delay relay circuit for a two color led system that switch's between daylight>on off /off on<moonlight in a 12 hour cycle for my aquarium
I did the math for c1= 2200uf and r1= 7.7 omhs sound right? for 14400 seconds?
what would the capacitor voltage have to be?
I could reduce uf and increase omhs to make the math come out correctly, right?
how could I ad a time of light switch dimmer to this?( when it switches between the two lights[moonlight to daylight] I would like one to fade in)

This circuit has a very low output current. It cannot activate most relays.
Why is your resistor almost a dead short? 2200uF and 7.7 ohms makes a time of about 0.034 seconds. But 2200uF and 3.3M ohms (3300000 ohms) makes a time of 14400 seconds if the capacitor leakage current is very low.
ya im like a new born to this... do you know were i can find a collage level book on ciriuts and electricity in general that has a thorrow section on the mathmatics involved for this im really interested in all this couldnt i use a series of capacitors and resisters to offset the timing more? granted theres strong enough base current to keep the capacitor from discharging how big would that resister have to be in copper coils? can conductivity of copper be rated per weight?
