I built a circuit that helps to keep me from driving down the road with my signal or emergency flashers on. I am no longer able to hear the blinker relay, and the dashboard lights are dim and poorly placed. For less than $20 and a little work I made my own solution. I bought a couple of very cheap diodes, a 12volt strobe light, and some wire. I cut into the circuits that feed the front blinker lights and connected the strobe light to each through a diode. (The diodes are necessary to keep the left blinker from feeding through to the right blinker, and vice versa.) I mounted the strobe light on the driver's side front wall where it is out of the passengers' view, but in my own. Frankly, because of the pulse nature of the signal, when I designed it I was not sure it would work at all, but in practice it works beautifully. The strobe flashes whenever either directional signal light is on, and also when the emergency flasher is activated. It is a great solution for an old man who is hard of hearing!
