Hey i found a video of a amp useing only a 555 but he dosnt post a schematic or will send me it, so i was wondering if someone knew how to do this and had a pic online of it.
Here is the vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvOSWekG7sY

This will be a cool project cause most people dont know a 555 can be used like this.

The datasheet for the 555 shows how it can do PWM.
But its max current is 200mA so the output into an 8 ohm speaker is only 0.16W. A cheap clock radio is 0.5W.

Look up class-D audio amplifier. Then adapt the PWM or PPM circuit in the 555's datasheet to do it.

Double the volume of what?
Since your hearing's response to loudness is logarithmic then you need 10 times the power to sound twice as loud. Double the power is only a little bit louder.

Use an LM386 or a TDA2822M amplifier IC.
