Greetings: I have a couple of old circuit boards from my son's ray guns (circa mid-80's). Over time the leads to battery, LED, speaker and operating switch input/outputs have been shorn away. Could anyone offer assistance in returning these articles to service? They're identified as "54-10012A" and are of simple construction - no DIPs, just resistors, capacitors, transistors and one 12-position rotary switch to change the sound effect. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks gus_boy
Right - I should have been more specific: I need the locations for the specific connections. There's some info silk-screened on one of the boards (I have 2 identical units) but even at only 9 v. I could probably do some damage if I put power to the wrong spot on the board.
The ground plane will be easy to figure out. It's going to be a common trace that runs around the circuit, probably connects to one side of the speaker directly, and has a lot of components negative sides connected to it. The +V line is similar except that it likely connects directly to the transistor that drives the speaker and maybe the power "trigger". From there you may be able to probe the other outputs.
