I have a 1990 model Mitsubishi Galant with a 2.0 single over head camshaft engine and a 5 speed tranny. I need a generic fuel injector driver that uses the stock distributor, o2 sensor and throttle position sensor. The crank/cam position sensor is built into the distributor and is some sort of optic device. I am not sure if it is photo or IR but the driver for it is in the engine managment and when it burnt out it took the idle control motor with it. for all the electronic b.s. i would have to replace it would cost about us$600 and if at all possable i dont want to spend that much on it. I am considering putting a carb on it but i would lose power. so if anyone could help with a generic fuel injector driver that uses the stock dist., o2 sensor(optional) and the throttle position sensor i would greatly appreciate it. oh and this car is for track racing only so it doesnt have to pass inspection.
also the cam position sensor opperates the coil but not the timing. The optics in the coil are seperated with a thin metalic disc that has slots cut into it to allow the the connection of the optics. there are a total of four slots in the disc, I assume that each slot fires a injector and the coil. Also the engine is naturally aspirated. Now then let me tell you what i think i know.....well thats it. nothing.
