I would have to say the entire DOOM series, or the Half-Life series. Space invaders and Pac-man was cool though...........

Hm, that's a really good question...
For me, it depends.
Mystery/problem solving games would have to be "The 7th Guest". It came out a little before the (for some reason) popular "Myst" yet was much more advanced both technically and in terms of the actual game.
For side scrolling type games, it has to be "Scorched Earth". You an play that for hours and hours, and even if it gets boring in a week it will be fresh again. "Lemmings" is another good one.
For first person shooters, I like the Wolf3d, DooM and Quake series. |

The 7th Guest? I haven't played that in ages.............good game though. Side scrolling game of all time would have to be the Mario Brothers series. How good were they!

I was just looking for ideas, but for me, 1st person would definitely have to be doom3. But my all time favorite is Fable, the lost chapters. |

I'm pretty sure I still have a copy handy, and a little searching says that it runs under XP...
The sequel, "The 11th Hour" was probably just as good but I never really go into it. |
