I have thrown away many inexpensive strobe lights which contain a circuit simular to the own one your page. i.e. "Radio Shack" What is the most likely component (except the lamp) that always fails. In other words what component would your replace first to try to get the thing to fire properly. The one I have now only fires once when turned on. I can still hear it clicking rapidly when I turn up the pot but it doesnt flash.... Thanks, Joe

Yeah, most strobes are very similar in design.

The most likely parts to fail are the neon lamp and SCR.
