At my aunt's house they have a old metal window fan (all steel, including blades) that's got major rust problems. It needs to be replaced and I cannot seem to find any fans anywhere that have metal blades. We've had ones with plastic blades and the blades end up cracking over time because of the heat from the sun I imagine. The only company I know that makes a metal-bladed window fan is Air King, model 9166 for $299 (!!). Anyone know of anywhere else to get one? If it all comes down to it we may just have to buy the one from Air King.
I looked at the 9166 just a moment ago because like you I am fond of the old style metal window fans, but on the Air king website it is described as being impact resistant plastic, the only thing steel is the grill. such a shame, what is this world comming to.
