I currently own 2 88 GXL hard tops. one is my daily driver, the other is in mint condition with 90,000. Working on a rebuild, wondering if you could give me any advice, never done it before. I was looking at atkins rotary 3mm apex seals, seems like it would give a little reinforcement for the boost thats going on this car. Any suggestions while I have the motor ripped out?
I was just wondering if you ever got that car dyno'ed I saw in that movie. Higher compression, more for your boost, its well friggen worth it.

3MM apex seals don't really offer any more "protection" then 2MM seals. Primarily, 3MM seals exist so that you can use old, worn out rotors (mill the worn 2MM grooves to 3MM). Many people believe 3MM are stronger, but this has never been proven. Also, 3MM don't seal quite as well as the 2MM seals.
While the engine is aprt, it also makes sense to install a shimmed oil pressure regulator, oil thermo pellet and an oil baffle plate. There's really not much else that needs to be done on a basically stock port engine.
No, I didn't actually have my car dyno'ed. Unfortunatly, dyno day was cancelled due to lack of commitment from the other participants.
