note: i sent you an email a few dasy ago, so obviosly you don't read your email hourly as i do. o well, you did warn me. so here is the email.

hello, Aaron Cake.
I have two questions for you.
1. I quote from your computer page: "On all my machines, various registry tweaks redirect the system folders (My Documents, Favourites, etc.) to directories on the server. As well, registry changes in Outlook 98 direct all machines to the central OUTLOOK.PST file on the server. Basically, any data is available on any machine by default, as it should be". how did you do this? Is there a site you found that told you this, that you could pass on to me? this would be greatly appreciated, as my server's setup is much like your as it is modeled after yours.
2. Can I have the script for this email setup you have. On my old webpage I was getting flooded with spam, and for my new page I want to stop the spam at the source. your setup would be the best for this.

thank you in advance. your website's great, I think I have read every part of it.

note: the email setup is the thing on your contact page.

As it clearly says (something like 3 times) on my contact page, it can take up to 6 months (or longer) to get a response to an email.

Posting to the forum is the best idea for most people.

1. Redirecting My Documents is easy. Just right click on the icon, Properties, and change the path.

Outlook is more complicated. Do you want to know how to change Outlook?

2. No. Unless you are running ASP with ther Persists mailer component, the script will be useless. I also don't share scripts used on my website, for obvious security reasons. It's a VERY simple script. Take an email address from a form, open a template text file for the reply, and send a message to that address.

i figured that would work for the folders, just didn't know if windows had some kind of protection against that.
im not shure if moving the .pst is what will solve my problem, so here it is:
-i have two computer users in my house
-each one has email
-i have two workstations that users can read email on
-computer one is WinXP pro with outlook express
-computer two is Win98SE with outlook express
-computer three is Win98SE and is my network/web server, users wont be using this computer to read email on.
-i want computer one&two's .pst emails to be saved onto computer 3.
-i want both computers to have the same .pst for each user.
-that way when i download an email from my ISP , it can be read on eather computer

This does not work with Outlook Express. It does not use PST files. I don't know of anyway to share Outlook Express mailboxes, but then, I have not looked.

Outlook and Outlook Express are two 100% different products.
