Posted - May 08 2011 : 10:42:13 AM I just looked at my WAN connected router's log, and in a random slice of ten seconds it has come up with 110 of these messages:
Monday May 09, 2011 00:39:19 Unrecognized attempt blocked from 92.16.80.84:19956 to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx UDP:22751
I had a look at three of them and they were comming from Brazil and the USA.
Is this normal?
I have consequently blocked WAN side pings. |

Posted - May 08 2011 : 11:09:57 AM Yep, normal. Just background noise, port scans, etc. Don't know that port specifically but probably some exploit trying to get in. Really nothing to worry about.
I have, on any given day, seen logs of thousands of people trying to TelNet to my router, connect to my VPN, etc. |
