Posted - Nov 10 2010 : 09:44:45 AM Whats the potential of the stock turbo on a S4 turbo 6 port. Plans are to run a big front mount, 555s, SAFC. Im wondering what the max power you can get with them, because they are so cheap i was thinking of going this way instead of a full custom manifold and somesort of used large turbo(from a diesel or something). Looking for 300whp-350. Thanks |

Posted - Nov 20 2010 : 10:24:34 AM I'd recommend the stage 2, which is something you can actually tune yourself. Yes, 550CC primaries and 720CC secondaries should be enough for about 300HP. But because the RTek is ultimately based on the stock ECU, I can't say for sure. A full standalone can drive injectors harder than the stock ECU. |

If you run a TII ECU, you can tune fuel a bit better becuase the TII ECU at least knows what to do with timing. To run the TII ECU you will need the TII pressure sensor and the TII AFM as well. It plugs into the NA harness with minor changes.
If money is tight, then look into an RTek. It is a programmable stock ECU.
As for the turbo, look into a BNR Stage 1 hybrid stock turbo. That will allow you to retain the stock exhaust manifold.

Posted - Nov 11 2010 : 2:32:42 PM Hmmm alright. Im not gonna be able to afford a standalone. Would upgrading to 750cc or 1000cc secondaries help? Also is it better to run the T2 ECU or N/A in regards to timing? If i wanted to reach those goals what would you recomend for turbocharger size then? |

Posted - Nov 11 2010 : 1:54:15 PM About 275HP when extremely well tuned. Meaning that in order to that get that level of power, an S-AFC won't cut it.
Realistically, about 250HP at the most with just using an S-AFC and larger injectors because you will have to dump fuel to avoid detonation as the NA ECU advances timing. |
