I am a btech 2nd year student and my area of interest is High Voltage/Current Generation. I am doing a project with a tesla coil. I have made the coil with PVC pipe winding. Now I need to supply a High Voltage to it. The input voltage of the coil should be in range of 30kV-40kV ( even better if its more than 60kV ). So I thought of making your Solid State Tesla Coil/High Voltage Generator i.e Two Transistor Solid State Tesla Coil. You have explained it very well on your notes. But i need some additional detail. You have not mentioned the input Supply for the circuit. I think you have designed as per the power supply system of your country. I am staying in India and our main Supply is 220-230V 50Hz AC supply. So i will be highly grateful to you if you kindly provide me what modifications should i make with your circuit to get my desire result. Is it possible to modify the circuit so that i can directly use main power supply for input or should i make any circuit to adjust the main supply voltage as per the need of this circuit??
Sir, plz kindly reply to my mail as soon as possible. I need to do this project very badly......... Thanking You
Sir, Sorry to bother you again.. But i will be glad if you provide me two favors.
1: i can understand that you have used a filter circuit so the input ac will be converted into dc. but what is the use of two transistors and resistors?? And how can you reconvert the dc to ac for the input to transformer T2?
2: in place of T1, can i use any larger value transformer so that my input supply will be more like something 230V 5A?? Because 24V 5A is quite less.. I am thinking of using a Variac..... Will it be ohk? I am asking because i want 60kV output. So if input will be more, then output will also be more....
Sir kindly do reply to this because i need this project to be completed by end of September. After that i will start the Tesla coil. http://www.aaroncake.net/circuits/hvgen.asp
Also sir kindly tell me how can i measure the output voltage of T2 accurately?? Because I cant take the help of multimeter measure such a high voltage...
PP147, It appears that you know nothing about electronics (you do not know what the low voltage DC supply and the two transistors and the resistors are for). Then you should not make this very dangerous project.
well sir i am a beginner on this field and i am trying to be an expert on High Voltage AC/DC generation and transmission. Its just my 2nd year in bTech. SO your suggestions and ideas are most well come.... Kindly help me to know the things instate of directly denying to do this project.. A 6 feet Tesla coil is my dream project that i am going to construct in final year. SO now i am doing such small projects just to gain some good knowledge on this.
