Hi all I have DC-AC inverter that Aaron Cake helped me build using CD4047 and CD4025 ICs and it works very well.I have tried to upload it but it has failed. However I want to use the same circuit to charge my battery because when i open commercial inverters I see they dont have extra components to accomodate the charging apart from the relay switches. it seems they charge through the same mosfets and the same transformer, how is this achieved? Any help is appreciated. Thanks |

A relay is used to disconnect the transformer from the inverter and connect its high voltage winding to the mains. The relay also connects the transformer's low voltage winding to a rectifier and battery charger circuit.
My electricity is very reliable and I don't go camping so I have never used an inverter. Inverters are very inexpensive so if I needed one I would just buy one, not design and make one. |

I have tried to disconnect power to the oscillator and powered the secondary winding of the transformer (220VAC) with grid power. To my surprise, the fets dint blow but when I measured the voltage at the DC input cables it is between 8.5v to 9v. I think this is because the primary winding of the transformer is an 8.5V-0-8.5V center tapped. If so how can I make it to around 15V so that my 12V battery get fully charged? Thanks for any help. . .hi Dennis. . Well, its been a long time . . =) I thought you'd already use the same transformer for your inverter to charge the battery? As far as I remember you also uploaded a schematic diagram showing how a relay do the trick. . .

Yes man, but my problem is that with this 8.5v-0-8.5v primary wound transformer it is just not possible because the maximum charging voltage is 9V. How can I boost this to at least 13V? Thanks |

Hi Audioguro,
Where can i download or get your 500 - 1000 watts inverter circuit diagram using FETs.
Thanks in advance, MikeL (sanmlight@yahoo.com) |

Ki Michel I am trying to find a 18v 500ma transformer for a jump start battery charger, the transformer went bad in my charger, do you know where I might buy one? Thanks for any info. Will in Al. |

I think Liza is using an on-line translator that works very poorly. |

In order to use your inverter to charge your battery you must consider root2 factor during ur winding i.e transformer, i design my inverter and my battry is fullly charge with my inverter |
