I am buying an 12v DC to 240V AC inverter & was wondering if you are running an air pump that uses 80 watts at 240v powered from a 12v car battery.
The question is if I had two Inverters one with an output of 150watts & another with an output of 400 watts will the larger 400watt one drain the car battery faster than the 150 watt inverter or will they both drain the battery at the same rate??????????

If both inverters have the same power conversion efficiency at your load (80 watts), then they will both drain the battery at the same rate.

If your inverter comes with a datasheet/manual, it may have a graph that shows you the efficiency of the inverter at different power output levels. That's how you can determine which inverter will best make use of your battery.
