Can any one please upload a schematic diagram for (230v input to 1kv or 2kv output)
(Edit...Move to Power Supply) |

You forgot to say if each voltage is AC or DC. You also forgot to say the maximum amount of output current you want. |

its AC of course. and its for my small tesla coil. so around 30ma t0 60ma current is better. |

Why do you need a schematic for a simple transformer that has only 2 windings? You should learn about electricity before you electrocute yourself. |

But schooling must be very different in India because he doesn't know anything about a simple stepup transformer. |

Reply to the topic, then you'll find an "Insert and image file" link under the text box. Click it, a window pops up, browse to your file, check the "Show image in post", then hit the Upload button.
Go to a neon sign shop, purchase a neon sign transformer.
Or, there are many circuits on the WWW that show you how to drive an automotive ignition coil with a 555 timer and a transistor. |

The file is indeed uploading, but your browser is not running the JavaScript to insert the text required back into the original post. Do you have JavaScript disabled?
I can prove the image is uploaded because here it is:
And by following the address in the image, we get the author's website. Why not just include the link?
http://www.sentex.ca/~mec1995/circ/hv/hvdcgen/hvdcgen.html
(On a side note it's awesome that the author's website has been around since 1995...that's when this site started! We were among the very few sites of the time to actually have schematics on the newfangled World Wide Web. Previously finding circuits meant trudging through FTP sites, using Gopher, or USENET.)
So there is absolutely no info about T1 given, other than an obscure part number. This is the problem with many HV related circuits: they don't tell you how to make the transformer. So you have two choices.
The first is to just use a circuit with a known transformer like the flyback based HV circuits on this website. They work quite well:
http://www.aaroncake.net/circuits/Solid_State_Tesla_Coil_Circuit.asp http://www.aaroncake.net/circuits/hvgen.asp
I've built them both, including MANY versions of the 2nd circuit for purposes from plasma bulbs to powering lasers to igniting fuel in a home made jet turbine.
Or you can go through the trouble of figuring out the original circuit. Calculate the frequency range of the oscillator, then Google "transformer design", then select a ferrite core and turns ratio for a 6V in ~800V out transformer in that frequency range. Then buy the stuff and wind it. Sounds like a pain to me when there a zillion other HV generator circuits out there that use standard transformers like TV flybacks, auto ignition coils, etc. |

There may be a language barrier here, but did you not read my long reply?
The type of T1 is unknown. Not even the winding instructions or specs are in the schematic. I told you how to approximate what you need to do to make a T1.
Or, use a circuit that has all known parts. |
