I have seriously considered getting one of those. I prefer to get one of those SSD & HDD hybridisers. That way I can choose what cache size (SSD size) and what total capacity (HDD size) I want. But of course the speed boosts you get come down to how good the caching algorithms are in the hybridiser. I hope that word makes sense in this context. |

Well, I passed a cop today going twice the speed limit. And apparently not a single fuck was given because he didn't pull me over. The speed limit was 55mph. :D |
If you don't have the time to do it right, when will you have the time to do it over? |

Well those last few were a bit random.
Do the LED bulbs have diffusers? It may be the highly directional nature of the LEDs which make them seem dimmer than an incandescent. Also the fact that the spectrum on an LED is so pure.
In reading about the motherboards and adapters that hybridize regular HDs with some flash, it seems that they aren't as reliable as I'd like. Weirdness with storage is not something I tolerate.
Several years ago I was BBQ'ing and got bored. I had some printers set up in the basement for review/testing so I started printing out funny pictures from the Internet, and stapling them to the garage wall. A few days later, most of interior of the garage was wallpapered with funny Internet pictures.
The officer was likely taking a nap or otherwise not paying attention. Or perhaps not in a position to get up and going quickly enough. Time to buy a lottery ticket. |

I can only imagine if I was that passenger. I'd poke at the pilot a few times, ask if he's awake. Nope, not awake. OK, no problem. "It's my aircraft, I have control" and grab the stick. Call the tower, declare pan pan pan with an unconscious pilot, and ask for an approach.
Speaking of crashing, as I was driving to work on Thursday, I passed by this.
Wait...WHAT?! |

I know some people throw their old shoes up onto power lines... but cars? Well I guess you only get that over in Canada!
About two weeks ago this happened not far from where I live: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/man-rams-buses-bites-cop/story-e6frf7jo-1226308943349 I was going for a drive when I saw the traffic was backed up on Bell Street. I avoided the area. |

Dang, call me crazy but I have a pretty cool collection of car crash photos I have taken while commuting to work too! Will post a few when I get a second.
ON LEDs: "Do the LED bulbs have diffusers? It may be the highly directional nature of the LEDs which make them seem dimmer than an incandescent. Also the fact that the spectrum on an LED is so pure."
Not sure what you mean by diffuser? The LEDs are cylindrical, I got these 45 LED jobbies: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2F1157_LED_spider_light.htm
They turned out to be really dim, I then purchased a 90 LED version of theses SMD forward firing LEDs. I think I should look up some multi-directional versions. The 90 LED version was only a touch dimmer that the conventional filament bulbs. But I am hoping the light meter will show the difference between the two bulbs.
I have a bunch of power supplies that I have already sold, there are about 8 remaining which I am willing to give away free to AARONCAKE.NET members. Let me know if there is anything you could use as I am going to dump them at my local electronics surplus shop within the next two weeks: http://liquidsurplus.webs.com/

I watched Titanic [1997] today in 3D. It's a bloody good movie which I havn't seen in several years. In the cinema, the girls in the rows behind me were crying and spilling their pop-corn everywhere. I have to say, when James Cameron says he put a lot of effort into making the movie look like it was shot in 3D, it really does show. I have heard that George Lucas's Star Wars Episode 1 wasn't all that 3D, but I haven't seen it in 3D myself. I suppose that if you want to see a proper 3D movie, just goto IMAX. Prometheus - the new alien movie directed by Ridley Scott - will be showing at IMAX as well as regular cinemas. |

Nope, no diffusers based on the website. Some LEDs have an opaque section at the top that smooths out the pinpount light source.

Since they are just replacing marker lights I wouldn't expect them to be much brighter than the original bulbs, which are kind of dim.

Never seen an IMAX 3D movie myself. I missed Avatar at the IMAX which I think I will always regret. |
