Because of the effects from the substance that is Nitrous Oxide (NAWSSSSSS). Using too much of it will make your floor pan fly out. Because everyone knows that your floor pan is where your intake manifold is.

If you don't have the time to do it right, when will you have the time to do it over?

You'd be amazed how many people look at the secondary fuel injectors on my upper intake manifold (on the RX-7) and say "Whoa! Naaaaawwwwwzzzzz!"

Also, interestingly enough, I was at a local car show and saw a very well done older Mini. Everything was quite clean, the engine was highly upgraded and in general, the car was put together well. In the back was a nitrous bottle. I spent 5 minutes in the engine bay looking for the lines and solenoids before I asked the owner. He said "They run under the car and connect under the intake manifold". I spent a full 8 minutes trying to find them, but the only conclusion I could come to, not seeing any lines, is that the bottle is fake. Very sad.

I think nitrous is kind of dumb to have, but faking that you have it is just plain low. I do like it when they purge the lines though, that looks kind of cool.

I've always thought of nitrous as fake horsepower. A lot of fun until the bottle runs out. And that's if the bottle valve is already open, bottle temperature is optimal, arming switch is on, etc. There are some great nitrous systems but none get over the fact that it's a short lived kick in the pants. And filling those bottles gets a bit expensive after a while.
