Hey guys, I come here again for an issue :D

I'm designing a trail website, its purpose is to list like 10 jobs (for now). The jobs each have certain information (pay, education needed, years exp, etc.) I want the jobs listed, and under (or above) have check boxes to filter the list. I know HTML, but im thinking that Ill have to cram learn another language to execute this the way I want to. The problem is that I'm not sure what language(s) and what this technique is called. I was told to look at java, then I started looking at PHP and MySQL. Am I heading into the right direction?

Depends on where it is hosted. Some ISPs are PHP shops, some are ASP. It might be worth checking to see if what you want is already available. If so it may be exactly what you are looking for or easily modified. Thing is, I don't know what one would search for. Maybe something like "job requirements list script asp" as an example.

If I was making such a thing, I'd go ASP since I already have MS IIS servers set up to run it. The same could easily be accomplished via PHP. MySQL will work in either case.
