. I have a problem with ground water getting under my pool liner. When the pool was installed, they put a suction line under the liner to suck out the water. The problem is that someone has to turn on the pump and then turn it off. I installed a rain sensor so that when it rains it will start the pump. It is adjustable from 1/8” to 1” of rain. The way it works is there are lather disks inside, and when they get wet and swell, it trips the switch. Here is where the problem is, depending on how wet it gets, it could take up to 14 hours to dry out and let the switch reset. I don’t need the pump running that long. If the pump ran for about an hour after it stops raining would be good. I can’t find a rain sensor to work the way I want it to. All the rain sensors are for sprinkler systems, so it does not matter how long it takes to reset. Would anyone have any idea on possibly making a rain sensor to do what I need? I do not have a problem adding relays or timers to the circuit. Any ideas?
Yes. Since the circuit uses a 555 timer, look up the datasheet. It will tell you which combination of resistors and capacitors to use to get a longer delay.
