Hi.

today i was trying to make the infrared remote control as given here.
http://www.aaroncake.net/CIRCUITS/irremote.asp

but unfortunately i'm in little confusion with the -9v and GND terminals i mean where to connect both these.does both of them goes to -ve terminal of the battery???

The opamp in the receiver is missing a resistor from its pin 3 input to ground.

The receiver circuit has a dual-polarity supply. One is +9v and the other is -9V. The 0V terminals of both supplies are joined at ground.

how to get a dual polarity supply?? i know this website has one circuit for this here

but it takes input from 120v ac supply. can u make one that takes input from a battery??

Simply use two 9V batteries. One makes +9V and the other makes -9V.
