i had designed an smps, with inout supply of 230V, 50Hz.. the capacitor used at the ouptut of bridge rectifier is 10uF, 400V electrolytic capacitor having a life of 8000hrs @ 85 deg.celcius.. so the smps has a life of less than a year. how can i increase the life to 20years. i see that solid capacitors has a life of 20000hrs, but they are nt available for the same power rating.
Please tell me what i can do.
Can solid and electrolytic capacitor be connected in parallel

85degC is probably its maximum rated temperature. You'll get a much longer life at a lower working temperature.
