I found this RX7 that needs a fuel pump. About how much is and aftermarket one, and what are the pros and cons of an aftermarket one and an OEM one? It is a 12A engine completely stock, the guy said it has been sitting for 6 months is there anything I should look for? I have read Aaron's tutorials for bringing a car out of improper storage and all that.

| Any old parts store carburetor pump will work. They likely have a cross reference in the parts computer. After sitting for 6 months, the carb probably needs a good cleanout and you should certainly compression check the engine. |

| Thanks. That is the 2nd logical answer. I was told an aftermarket one and a regulator would be good, but I looked and they are out of my price range. |

| It doesn't have to be performance aftermarket, just parts store. A carb pump designed for a 4 or 6 cylinder should do the job. Your parts store probably even has a part number for the RX-7. I know mine does. |

Turns out I'm not getting the car. Just don't have the cash. My dad doesn't want to loan me money for an "unreliable" car that may or may not be running. Sigh. |

| It wasn't supposed to be a project car, I wanted to replace the fuel pump, do a few more fixes and drive it. Small stuff. |
