hey all, does anyone know if i take a microwave transformer with the 110 volt primary in place and put 2 110 volt primarys in place of the secondary and tie 2 legs together as the center tap this will make 220 volts, 110 volts each leg but how many amps could i pull from this arrangement. all the 110 volt primarys would be from microwave transformers.

That will work. You can get a few Amps out of it but the more loading you put on those new secondaries the more voltage drop you'll get across them. You'll need to find the resistance of them and try a few experiments to get an idea of how steady the voltage will be under your normal loading. If you just want a voltage boost for several reasonably low power home devices then you should be okay to go. Maybe not a dryer or dishwasher though.

well yes i wanted to feed the breaker panel 220 volts to run my small house but i have a well pump and it draws 6.8 amps to run plus the surge so this may not work, i wanted to do this and run the primary off a 3000 watt inverter since running the house on just the inverter did not seem to easy on batterys, thought making this buck transformer might have worked but the amps are the big question.
