hai all ... i junaidi from malaysia.. i have an incubator .. but still old scholl type..(manual) now i want to upgrade to auto turner.. need advice from all friends here.. i plan to use D/C motor.. to turn my turner.. i have try it before.. but i dont have idea to start and stop that D/C motor... that motor continue running and stop only when i push the stop suiz..
please help me.. to desing one simple circuit to stop and start the D/C motor AUTOMATICLY..
MOTOR TURN....around 35 degre angle.....stop for 4 hour after touch micro swith (step 1 )....and turn again same condition like (step 1), and stop again 4 hour .. operate in 24 hours....(now i manualy push the switch)
my problem here at (step 1) i dont have any idea to run the motor again after the power cut off by micro switch..
Instead of making the motor only operate 35 degrees, why not accomplish that with something mechanical like a cam wheel? Use a gear motor (probably already built into the incubator) to operate a cam shaped so that it will turn the rollers and then release after about 35 degrees? Then use any number of timer kits (search Google for "cyclic timer electronics kit") to run the motor for a few seconds every 4 hours. That way you don't have to worry about the motor running away or trying to control the position of a DC motor precisely.

That's an industrial timer which is designed to operate in a factory for many years under harsh conditions. The cost is quite high compared to something designed for consumer use or a homemade circuit with the LM556.
