The Aaron's Web Page got mad when i tried to upload my high resolution pictures. And yes, that is my front yard.

(Edit...Move to Computers)

If you don't have the time to do it right, when will you have the time to do it over?

Nice machine, but my one looks more militarily sexy.

It's no wonder the forum complained when you tried to upload those images. They are over 3MB, and the forum limit is 250KB.

Honestly bringing them down to 1024 x 768 and then using just a bit of compression would not compromise quality and make them far more viewable.

Nice machine though. What O/S are you running?

Windows Vista. I get so much crap for it. Especially it only being 32-bit. I would use 64 but wouldn't play all my games.

I do some memory intensive work such as video, sound and CAD drawing rendering, so the 6GB really comes to good use. I have no choice but to use a 64-bit OS.

Boogieman you can partition you drive like I have done and use a 64-bit and 32-bit OS mutually exclusively. I still use an old MIDI port joystick which Vista 64 will not accept.

What clock speed does your memory run at? You've got DDR2, why not DDR3? I've got DDR3 at 1600MHz.

There seems to be such a marginal benefit over DDR2 for the price of DDR3, I don't know if it's worth it until the cost comes down.

Once Windows 7 is out, that Vista can be dumped for something that doesn't suck.

I'm drooling over these solid state drives. This mechanical beast I have now is too slow. In the future, mechanical storage mediums will be dead.

DDR3 doesn't make a great deal of difference for real world apps. However it really does help in benches of course. If your going for a new system you may as well choose DDR3. I recently moved from a P35 + DDR2 to X48 + DDR3 (Foxconn blackops to be exact, I did a review here). I can't tell the difference.

As for SSDs, this is what makes the real difference, even in real world apps. I'm keeping my eye on the new Intel X25-M G2, hoping the prices will become more reasonable soon.
