Are there more then one?
I was asked if I had ever used one. I just looked dumb and said no.
But the more I thought about it I would like to know something about it.

A PIR is a passive motion detector sensor.

I've also seen passive motion sensors that use ambient light levels. They detect subtle changes in ambient light reflected into a sensor. PIR sensors are much better though.
