I would like to convert my sequential twin turbo's to a single turbo..Is the CT26 from the supra a good choice for my 13B-RE with a N333 ecu and a fmic?? It has a compressor inlet of 72mm and the discharge nozzle is 56mm,the turbine passage is 60mm....It says that you can flow 300kw with it modified..Reason for this turbo choice is that i can get it for dirt cheap off a junked supra..If its too small then why?I am not looking for huge power just around 250hp-maybe300hp..And its a daily driver..Thanks a million...

Probably not, no. The twins that came with the engine have more capability. I suspect that "Supra" turbo wouldn't make more then 250HP on a 13B, if that.

And you certainly need a proper standalone ECU if you start considering turbo upgrades.

What's wrong with the twins?

I just dont want to spend $1000-$1500 on the Microtech or the Power FC,and then on top of that spend more money to get it all tuned just to control them..From what i have read,i can get a deicent amount of power just with the N333 ecu and a GReddy FMIC??? How can i mod the twins to opperate in non-sequential? And lets say if i do that, will they be at all responsive in the lower rpm ranges as well as top end?Can the twins be taken apart to be made into a single turbo?I want to use the ct26 because i have it already and i dont realy have the funds to spend on a better one, unless some one wants to play(lets make a deal)...LOL..I spent money on all my stuff to start the whole project, that way i have everything to get it done in a coupla months..Well thanx so far for all the help.............Josh

Ok I did do some research on the no-seq mod to the stock twins and i actualy just found a write up on it(finaly),and i will do the full mod,not the "poor mans way", the only thing is is that i want to run the N333 ecu and i have a 87 s4,will it work for my RE engine and the twins modded in non-seq mode..What other ecu can handle that motor in that configuration?I am also going to port the wastegate in a day ar so and i will post some pics to those who want to see em..Do i have to buy a T2 engine harness to plug in to the N333,or do the cosmo ones work? I have been gathering parts for the swap for over a year and i will start the prep of the engine bay and paint it,then put the motor in..I just dont know all the technical stuff like the afm,and what one to use(either the cosmo one or my s4 n/a one etc),what coils and igniters, and tps wiring..I just dont know that stuff and i spend countless hours reading trying to figuire that stuff out,but people just talk about"is this engine swap possible"and "how hard is it", "ill my tranny hold up etc..Is there any one that could help me through all the wiring nightmares and that have done this swap themselfs and got a good running car out of the deal???Thanks to all in advanced for your help................Josh

The N333 is the 'Vert ECU, right?

The TII ECU is the minimum ECU that you should be using. It works, but it's a risk when you start upping the boost just like it is on a stock TII. You can use the NA harness if you add the wire for the knock sensor.

You need to use the AFM and other sensors to match the ECU. The CAS is the same for both S4 and S5. The coil packs are the same.

The problem with the stock ECU is that it's only good for marginal power increases. Once you get past 250HP or so you need timing control and finer fuel control then the stock ECU will give you. Either way, once you upgrade the injectors past the 550CC stock units (which you will need to do) you'll have to use a piggyback or other method ot control them.

I would highly recommend a standalone. Entry level Microtechs or Haltechs are around $800. The Megasquirt is a lot less but is a pure DIY solution.
