Yeah, Zappa is one hell of a guitarist. I still prefere Pink Floyd over anything else, closely followed by Rammstein, Cannibal Corpse, Jamiroquai and Metallica. THat's just me

Anyone like Cream/Eric Clapton?

Cheers,
Mick

Yeh I like Cream and Eric Clapton also any older bands/artists Pink Floyd rock, but most people who know me would call me a Frank Freak he goes much beond funny lyrics and cheesy guitar riffs, I'm trying to build up my oringal vinyl collection as much as posible especaly quadrophonic ones. If you like pink floyd do your self a favor and listen to dark side of the moon on vinyl quad if you get the opitunity, I remember not so long ago like 3 years ago when I was about 17 geting yelled at (by my dad who was waiting for me in the car) for staying in a old record store too long because I was listing to Money in quad on vinyl I ended up geting kicked out of the shop because the guy wanted to close up haha
Truly awsome musical experiance

Now that's a real reason to get kicked out of a music store!

Dark Side Of The Moon on quadraphonic, huh? I've heard it on vinyl, and that is amazing, but never in quadraphonic.....I feel like I have lived a sheltered life.............

Cheers,
Mick

PS: Anyone like Primus at all?

I don't have any of his records. It's been a while since I last heard any of his music.

Primus is really good too. I always had bass guitar students come in wanting to play his stuff. However, I just showed them some Victor Wooten... not saying that one is better then the other because I hate it when people compare musicians and say one is so much better then the other because that is crap! Wooten is just the one who started the style that primus (Les Claypool) made popular to the youths of today.

Floyd is amazing too!

Victor Wooten? Can't say I've heard of him.....I'll have to grab some samples off the net and take a looksies...
As an aspiring bassist myself, I quite like to see how different people play without labelling them as shit or terrible or anything like that. Sure, Les can slap and play a fretless like anything, but Jack Bruce just has the rythm to him. Two completely different styles, equally as good......but Primus still rules.

Cheers,
Mick

Mick in case your still interested here is a google video of Victor Wooten. Just a little sample he is playing with Bela Fleck a very good Jazz musician. If you don't like jazz it is worth seeing Victor play.

I'm new here, but, still a Zappa fan. His early stuff with the Mothers, was too raw for radio, even FM. But, in the later years, his parity humor and creative story telling to put odd topics well between the lines, was what did it for me. So, I'm sending out "Joe's Garage", to all the want-ta-be Garage bands.
His humor is still needed.
