If all goes to plan, tomorrow I will be moving the site to the new server. This means that there will be some downtime most likely in the early or mid afternoon while I switch things over. I don't expect the process to take very long since I can boot up the new server in parallel with the old but physically one of the old servers must be moved as well. This means that everything sitting on it (the server running this site) must be shut down during the move...
Not only will this new server be thousands of times faster, it will be more stable. I've also taken the time to mod the forum to allow file attachments, add some anti-spam features, and a few admin features that will help me clear out old accounts. |
