Sounds like the glue holding the cap on was not holding properly. What type of cap was it (test cap, or regular cap)? What type of glue?

I had this problem with my Big Gun, but that was because I used the wrong cap.

Hmmm....Did you give it a twist when you glued it on? It still sounds like a glue problem.

Did it strip the threads or did the whole adaptor/cap assembly come off together? It does sound like a weak bond though. Try scuffing the pieces to be glued, insert the pices and give it about a 1/4 twist. Be sure to let the bond cure (overnight is usually good enough).. You may want to get about 20 feet or so of wire and remote detonate your gun to be on the safe side.

Also, ABS pipe has precleaner available. You apply it before you apply the glue to be sure the pipe is perfectly clean and assure a tight bond.

Weird. I honestly don't know. Must have been the fates playing a joke on you. They did that to me today. Not only did my car fail emissions rather spectacularily, but it blew a coolent hose later on....

It's OK. The problem is the O2 sensor and TPS. No big deal.

I have no idea the current prices of Chevelle's. You might want to check the blue book. I didn't even know that they still existed...
