Something I have been wondering... Why do almost all hotels/motels smell the same? Is it the cooling system, construction materials or cleaning agents? Does anyone actually know the answer to this?

The chemicals in the cleaning solutions is probably standardized and comes from a few core suppliers. Ergo it all smells the same. Sound reasonible?
