I have a belkin tunecast I that suffers from an over voltage (it seems that this model doesn't like the 12volts that a car puts out :P) anways, this could be a fun project for some advanced technition. It still powers on (kinda) but it doesn't work. Could be an easy fix here for anyone that is interested..Thought I might offer this here.

What? The tunecast is powered by a couple AA or AAA batteries. I don't get what you are talking about.

exactly..it used 2xAA batteries..and I tried to hook it up to a 12volt socket (Not directly, but a 4.5volt cd player adapter)..Anyways I Didn't want to junk this thing and thought it might be usefull to somebody here.

OK. Two AA batteries are going to produce 2.4 to 3 volts. 4.5 volts is going to be too much, especially since adapters tend to produce MORE voltage than the number written on their sides, depending on load. You either need a regulated 3V supply, OR build a regulator circuit (actually only a couple parts needed) to adjust the 4.5 approximate volts from your adaptor into 3 V for your tunecast.
