I just bought a Netware 16 port ethernet hub and I was wondering if anybody knows of any free multiplayer games.

bolo, but americas army has it beat....you cant get any better for free than that. well technically its not free, because they used tax dollars. but its free if your not a US citizen

I forgot to tell you guys the catch. The games have to run on my ibm thinkpad 600x that only has 4 mb graphic memory. There is also no direct 3d.

Enemy Territory doesn't run well without a somewhat newer graphics card, although I don't think it needs Direct3D. If you have the bandwitdth/HD space, why don't you download it and tell us how well it worked?
