Aaron,
I would like to use your Wireless Auto Tach to check the RPM on my lawnmowers, tractors, etc. Is it possible to modify your circuit for this application. Thanks for your input.

Instead of a car batteries use a 9Volts batteries. and instead of the 200Ohms use a 50Ohms. If the current is not enough use twoo 9Volts batteries in parallele

I have built and used this circuit on my car. I also found a table that has calabration settings for 1-8 cylinders (2 stroke & 4 stroke)
For 1 cylinder (4 stroke, using the 60hz calabration diagram) set it for 7200

Hey Zants...... If you had a chance, would you mind sending us a photo of your tach? How did you make your pick up from the plug wire?(signal to the input wire). Are you using a digital readout, or analog..? Regards Perry

Yo Zantz, For 1 and 2 cylinder lawn mowers and tractors the spark plugs fire every revolution, every time the flywheel passes the ignition coil, whether on the compression stroke or exhaust stroke.
