I am thinking about building a pneumatic spudgun using CO2 as the propellant. I will be using a CO2 tank normally used for paintball guns and plumb it into the chamber with a simple on/off valve and a pressure guage. My question is, should a use ABS or PVC pipe? I don't know which one has the greater pressure rating.

Thanks. What do you think would be the best way to plumb in the CO2? The threads on the end of the hose from the tank are roughly 5/16" threads. Maybe drill a hole through the thick square part on a cleanout cap then thread it with a tap and die set? That way I have a lot of mass to hold the threads from the hose.

Will do. I will post some pics and perfomance specs when it is complete.

Also put a bolt on the other end of the nipple. Keeps it from blowing out.

Put a bolt where? Do you mean a nut? If so, I get what your saying, good idea. Thanks.
