So what is your boost pressure running at
i am running around 6 psi and i hope this is ok
I ported out the internal waste gate on the stock S4 turbo , it is now the biggest that it can be and still be able to seal it off when not needed
I am still working on pictures
Check out my wesite at http://users2.ev1.net/~ccoutts

How much boost you can run depends on the turbo, intercooler and how much fuel. Assuming stock turbo and cooler, and TII injectors, about 10 PSI is the limit on an NA engine. I have run up to 12, but I don't recommend that.
I checked out your website. It's good, but the font is HUGE.

Ok i will try and make the font smaller
Also i added some more pictures to that page with my N/A Turbo Project.
http://users2.ev1.net/~ccoutts/turbo_charge_n_a_project.htm
Also about the Boost ..... I was going to try and run 5psi of boost. Do yuo think that this is to little, I am useing a Stock TII Intercooler and a Stock TII Turbo and 4 550 Fuel injectors. Also have a Turbo II fuel pump.
I dont have a S-AFC let so i am not going to drive it untill i get one, but can i start it up as long as i dont try and boost it RIGHT??
What do you think is a Save Boost pressure for my Motor with appox. 150,000 miles on it
Thanks Alot

Good pictures, though some description would be nice as you really have to look in some of them to figure out what you're actually looking at...
It wasen't until I got past 5 PSI that I really started noticing the effect of the turbo. I believe that up until that point, any boost you are generating is simply working to overcome the drag the turbo is putting on the engine (via exhaust restriction). 5PSI should be reasonable on TII injectors and a TII fuel pump, but be careful.
You should be able to get 5 PSI without the S-AFC, but I would not go higher until you can tune fuel to compensate. Run premium.
As for the engine, I don't know. It completely depends on the internal condition of your engine. But if it has low compression, don't expect it to last under the abuse.

IT IS ALIVE
I started it today
Man it sounds good
I even got it to boost a little
Question? Are you doing anything to your timing.
Check out the Finished Pictures at the Same webpage.
That ant that bad in 4 DAYS
Thanks for all the info that i went by

Glad everything worked out. Pay careful attention over the next few days for leaks, etc. Also, be careful about the boost until you are used to everything, and have some way of controlling your fuel delivery.
My timing has remained stock, but once I get the Microtech installed, it will be retarded about 2 degrees for every PSI of boost (general rule).

Well i changed my mine on the Fuel injectors
I changed the two Secondarys fuel injectors and put 2 GSL-SE 680cc fuel injectors.
What you think???
I will get the S-AFC Friday 6-20-03
Also i drove it a little bit (Not Hard at all ) And i heard my BOV (man it was cool) i had to tighten it up because it was opening at ideal and the motor was jumping up and down .
I am not sure but i think it will run a little bit hotter so i will be putting a Small transmittion cooler in the front so the water coming from the Motor will go to the Cooler then back to the turbo.
I am getting the water for the turbo, from the water line going to the Intake. you no what i mean.
Do you have a problem with heat alot. I raped the intake pipe and the Exhuast Downpipe.
I think i am going to Flush the Radiator to marrow and maybe put a new Termostat in.
Any other thing you can think of....
Check out the New picture of my project. Same Website .

Installing the GSL-SE injectors is a good thing, but you still need to have some way to control them. You might have noticed that at around 4000 RPM, the engine just pukes. At that point, you're firehosing fuel into there, much more then is needed.
One suggestion (that I never got time to do) is to connect the TPS input of the S-AFC to a boost sensor (stock TII pressure sensor works). That way, your fuel is now boost referenced instead of TPS referenced. Good thing.
It's definitly going to run hotter, but not because of the turbo. Mostly because the front mounted intercooler is now blocking some airflow to the rad. This, combined with the extra heat load of the turbo, will cause the car to run hotter. The best bet is to make sure your rad is in good shape, or upgrade to an aftermarket unit (expensive). If your clutch fan is old and tired, replacing it will make a huge difference.
I had a heat problem mostly because my rad and fan were original to the car. I replaced my rad with a Fluidyne and installed an electric fan. Problem solved. I don't recommend installing an electric fan on the stock rad as it doesn't cool as well as the stock clutch fan.
Make sure to use a Mazda thermostat.
Do you still have the airpump? I didn't notice in the pictures. I did notice that you still have a cat, and if you do, you need the pump.
