I used to have ICQ (was one of the first...my number was < 900,000) but instant messaging is too damn annoying. I now use Yahoo Messenger very occasionally, but don't keep it on when I don't want it. I hate being inturrupted every 3 seconds by someone who thinks I have 3 hours to talk them through something. Or someone saying "Want to be my friend?", or another porn ad, etc.
As for stalking, it's a lot more fun then you think. I've been stalked before (twice, actually). The first one, I just put on a big show for and did all this weird stuff. Didn't pay much attention to the 2nd one.

My Yahoo ID is very easy to guess. I always register for stuff under my real name, since the days of the BBS.
Friendly porn is much better then the stuff I keep getting spammed with...Yikes. The scary thing is that people are actually interested in that stuff. Good thing I rarely see spam thanks to SpamPal.
