There's not a lot you can do without at least some money. First of all, take a look at my projects page for some ideas.

If you can't find anything there, spudguns can be pretty cheap to build if you can scrounge most of the parts.

Hovercrafts are easy and cheap if you can find most of the parts.

Cool forum! Last summer I had a old lawnmower that i wanted to rebuild with one of my friends, it didn't start at all... We started out searching for more of the same model: Briggs&Stratton 3.5hp and we made a try out on the one we found, we cleaned the inside of the engine and everything, at the end it still didn't work, but we wanted to repair the other one. so we cleaned the other one's motos: we got it to start very hard, and it wouldnt stay like that for more then 3-4 seconds... then another day when i was alone i got the stupid idea to go deeper... i opened it and then when i put it back it wouldn't start, not even for those 3-4 seconds.. not i didn't even try many times like before... I talked to my friend, we're gonna open the one we found and see what's in there and then we go back intoo the other one and try to repair it... it's gonna be another long summer... good thing i have a pool right besides me :) lol...

I Love Lawnmowers...

That sort of should be posted as a new topic, but anway...

What do you mean by "opened up"? Very rarely does an engine need internal work. More than likely the problem is with one of the support systems; either the carb or ignition system.

Since you seem to have taken it apart, it is likely there is more damage internally as there are specific procedures that must be followed during assembly and disassembly. I can certainly recommend some great small engine books if you want.
