Seems to be the case most of the time, unfortunately.

I just watched episode 22.5. Great stuff! I'm looking forward to seeing that Cosmo rolling down the road under its own power.

Posted - Oct 22 2012 : 01:01:18 AM Yeah, tell me about it.
In my experience, project teams that do very well usually have an outstanding member that would cause the team to collapse of fail miserably if it weren't for that member's contributions to the project. Oh how many times have I been that person. I just wish some people would pull their finger out and show some fucking initiative. So frustrating.
Ahhh... that felt good. |

That sums it up right there. I've always been in the same situation and it can be very tiring to fake interest. Which is why I try to surround myself with accomplished people...but then we get into the contest of who can out accomplish whom. |

Posted - Oct 13 2012 : 12:02:35 PM Ahhh some free time. I couldn't even find the time to scratch my own arse, let alone come here.
My story and thoughts: Ever since I was a toddler I showed an interest in electronics. My dad would go one step further and say that I started when I was a baby. My interest in electronics and a curiosity for how things work in general, has never wavered. I am mostly self-taught in the field of electronics engineering and I think if anyone is going to be very good at something, they must mostly be self-taught rather than following their teachers. I am not saying that I am very good at electronics because that's just not me - it seems I am too modest according to what others say.
Programming is another interest of mine which came about when I was about 12 years old, but mostly for micro-controllers. At about 17 years old, I started programming for much more powerful CPUs and GPUs.
It was always easy for me to impress people, but hard for others to impress me. Actually, sometimes people found it difficult to understand the things that I worked on or couldn't see the ultimate goal, so there was no way for them to appreciate the work I did. I didn't care anyway.
I am a very experimental person and a high percentage of my projects never see the light of day. This is also true in various industries like EE and CS, which are the fields I am focused on. |

Posted - Oct 13 2012 : 10:41:36 AM Haha, thanks.
I've also not done much electronics lately. Mainly just auto related electronics which is all just hooking stuff up or making basic mods to Megasquirts. Though I did build a few Megasquirts from scratch a few years ago.
audioguru is around but since traffic is a bit low, he's not been here too often either.
Traffic to the whole site is slightly down but not appreciably. Not sure why the forum has been a bit dead then. |

Posted - Oct 12 2012 : 8:36:08 PM For me it's been around 3 years. Feels like longer. I have not been stopping by as much as I used to just because it's been a very busy few months. But I do my fair share of lurking on the SaturnFans forums.
I don't seem to ask Aaron as many questions. Him and his site has taught me a lot though. Especially welding and giving me the motive to "attempt" things.
I'm surprised he put up with me for so long. XD |

Posted - Oct 05 2012 : 10:44:58 PM That's pretty impressive Wasssup. I haven't done much of any electronics projects in a long while. |

Posted - Sep 29 2012 : 1:28:00 PM I'm about two months shy of being a member here for 10 years - the year I started high school to now. A total of 4 dogs during that period. In the beginning I was one of the people here asking electronics questions but as time progressed I felt I didn't need as much help any more. Actually I can't remember the last time I asked a non-rhetorical question here. Anyway, it has been fun and interesting to come back now and then and see what's going on.

Posted - Sep 29 2012 : 10:31:40 AM It's a little slow right now but traffic here seems to come in spurts. I have to admit that I've not been stopping by as much as I should just because it's been a very busy few months. Though that goes for all forums that I visit, not just my own. |
