What does it for me is "Does the music sound good?", "Does it sound unique?" and "Does it have good lyrics, even if they are controversial in a light hearted sense?". Britney is a master at this. On top of that, she is drop dead sexy and cute. She also makes plenty of music videos you can imagine in your head as you listen to her songs. Did I mention that she can dance? I have no problem in saying that she is a "vehical" for music which the so called "true artists" create for her, and her fans. Her music isn't like some rock band putting out similar sounding songs over and over again. I have a huge endurance for Pop songs, not so much for rock. Though don't get me wrong, I like rock, but not as much as Pop. I don't care if an artist is "constructed" or "manufactured". As long as their music satisfies those aforementioned questions, I will add it to my collection. I also like other genres as well.

That's going to be the problem with any media constructed "artist". As soon as they start resembling the media image, interest falls off and suddenly we are looking for that talent, which really isn't there in the same way.
I have a fairly large issue with pop music, because it isn't being written as any kind of expression, it is just written to be popular. Once could follow a fairly standard formula and turn out a pop hit, which is certainly what is happening. |

Yeah I would have to agree sort of, but when you add that with all the other things she is - that's the reason why she's a superstar. She ain't perfect and shes never thought of herself as a role model, or even wanted to become one. The media inflate the bad things, you know that, and shes learnt to stop trying to please everyone. We built her up and then we broke her down. Now she's on the rise again. When was the last time you heard of Britney donating to charity? Never. That's because people only want to hear the bad things. She's a nice girl... Just a little dorky that's all - and yes she has called herself a dork.
For now, she's my girlfriend.  LOL!
Don't have the time for a real one. Hehe.

That picture was taking about 10 years ago. I think the picture looks unaltered. Actually both of them.
Your video... Yes, well you Americans love your deep fried fatty foods don't you? When I went over to the USA for two weeks back in 2007 I almost had a heart attack with all the fatty foods that were available at the place I was staying at. I could feel my health deteriorating.
