CRTs used to scare me because of the stories I have heard. Seeing that guy put his sledge hammer through them removed any remaining fear of them.
I remember I had an open CRT computer monitor on stool. It fell off and cracked its neck, there was only a hissing sound - nothing dramatic.

Now that I know the burst pressure of a coconut is around 200 PSI, my life is complete.
