Posted - Aug 25 2006 : 10:28:53 PM Reading Aaron's About Me page, I saw he is considering moving to Australia. Which leads me to a completely different topic: your DSL speed. In Australia, we've only just got ADSL2+ last April. And in my opinion, it's very good. But it can be hard to get. And unfortunately, you would be very lucky to get it being too far from a major city.
So, whats your dsl/adsl speed in your country?
For me, its 24mbps [2400kbps] down/1mbps up |

Posted - Aug 29 2006 : 2:06:26 PM Years ago, I would have killed for 12.5K/S.
When I first started using the Internet, my connection was at 300 baud. Actually my first modem was a 300 baud modem that had an accoustic coupler... |

Posted - Aug 28 2006 : 11:43:08 AM Don't laugh, but the only way I can get to the internet is with a laptop, hitting off my uncles wireless router accross the street. He has a slow connection speed, and when you add in the fact that I am wi-fi, I have a download speed of about 12.5 kb/s |

Posted - Aug 28 2006 : 09:44:07 AM Yeah, I've read about your DSL. Lucky bastards.
However here I have a 10MB cable connection so that's kind of hard to beat. When the other side can handle it, I generally see 750K or so download speeds.
The people who are really lucky are the ones living in California's San Fernando valley. They have Verison's Fios service which is basically fiber to the door. Speeds start at 30MB/S! |
