Posted - Dec 15 2005 : 09:26:10 AM Some of you may have noticed that this site was down for a few hours yesterday morning. It seems that the ASP service died so no ASP pages (including this forum of course) would work. Normally this would not have been an issue, but I received the notification of the failure just as I was arriving at the emergency ward of the hospital.
Yesterday morning about 8:20 I began to experiene a terrible pain in my right side. It got to the point where I was unable to even take a shower before work, so I went to the hospital. After a short initial exam, I had to wait about half an hour or so. During that time the pain mostly went away, so they moved me from emerge to a less critical ward. A little while later I had an ultrasound exam, and it was confirmed that it was kidney stones. Most of them had already passed so it was not worth breaking them up with ultrasound. I was given some Percacet (fun little pills, by the way...) and then sent home around 1:30PM. At that point, I rebooted the webserver.
Normally I would be able to restart the server or web service with my Blackberry, but since ASP was dead, my hands were tied...
Interesting morning anyway.

Posted - Jan 10 2006 : 05:22:23 AM Kidney stones? Ouch. So While a bunch of your users were wondering why this wouldn't work, while a bunch of doctors were contemplating surgical removal of your Kidney stones. And then you went home and gobbled up a percocet (which are apparantly highly addictive), and then fixed up the site. Eventful day. And I just (rather pointlessly) repeated what you said. Wow.
