my arc welder that is

here are 2 photos of my progress so far (see bottom)

its the base made with a hard white wood(not sure of its name) that i found in my shop
but i put the casters on it and to test it i stood on it

to my suprize it held up to 150pds.

i even jumped on it and it held up

so now i have to get 3 - 900watt transformers then some other parts and i can start once again

im soo happy ive always wanted a welder but never wanted to spend $150 for one
now i can have one for around $30

YES!!!!

i got it going

before i had around 15 volts comming out

that was not enough

i rewound the transformers and am now getting about 61 volts pumpin out of this bad a$$ arc welder

all i need to do now is :
buy electrode holder
buy ground clamp
buy welder wire
buy welding wire
close up the case

IM SOOOO HAPPY

you get a great sense of happyness when you build somthing on your own

but i cant forget to mention Dan @ www.dansworkshop.com

w/o him and his site i would never have started this project.

Old fashioned label-makers are pretty cheap...The kind that emboss the letters into plastic tape. That's what I have always used...

If you want to get fancier, then there are many options. Any printing shop can make you vynal letters, or you can get a label printer (around $50)...

BTW, you are making an arc welder or a MIG welder?

I just bought a new flux wire welder, and I love it.

If it was metal, I would suggest using MetalCast paint in the colour of your choice...I love that stuff...But as far as wood goes, smooth it out, then red.

You need to put your pictures onto a Web/FTP server so that you can link them here.
