These are some of the most disgusting and disturbing pictures I have ever seen:

Those are GM EV1's, reposessed and crushed by GM because their owner's leases are up. GM refuses to re-lease the car, and won't let anyone buy one outright...

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! SO MUCH WASTED POTENTIAL!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I COULD HAVE USED SO MUCH OF THAT!!!!!
That is so...... disturbingly wrong. It just goes to show how much the human race is becoming a throw-away society. GM will never see me as a customer.

GM will never, ever have any even remote chance of having me as a customer. Even discounting the EV1 destruction, there are so many reasons I don't even want to get into typing them.

my goodness, those pics make me sick. It reminds me of a nameless butter company which bulldozed tons of perfectly good butter into the dirt - all in the name of 'preserving market value'.
GM will never have me as a customer.

time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all of its pupils.

Ha! Thats sounds like me. When I see a computer or T.V. or microwave on the natures strip I want it. Why have it crushed into pulp and dumped in a hole? Some people just don't see the value of things that could make a difference.

They probably have more then a few 12/24 Gig HP DAT drives then. A few years ago, our shop sold about 20 of them to customer's for backups. The failure rate was nearly 100% in the first year, easily half of them were replaced on warrenty. For in the remaining time, the rest were replaced. Some customer's had multiple replacements of warrenty replacements, until HP finally just stopped and/or the warrenty ran out. We no longer deal with HP because this. Now, we sell Sony DAT drives and have not had a single failure.

One of my friend also told me that his mom is working for the Customer Support for HP (Hewlette Packard) Products, Whenever a person complains about his/her product and in the waranteed period, they will simply replace the product and not repair it. Since they do not have a trained professional to repair the product, lack of spare parts and sending the product to Singapore to have it repaired cost more than buying a new one. So they replace the product such as a not functioning print head with a brand new one. And the complained product will be stored in a room of a small apartment to be destroyed at a later date. My friend also visited the room he said lots of LCD Monitors, loads of printers, harddisk, casings. But even though his mom was working there no one is allowed to bring the stuff home or buy the product. It is simply destroyed. I felt pity for all the electronics onboard those equipment.

Hummm....

Reminds me of the alcohol fuel post.....

Politics....

Aaron Cake Posted - May 19 2004 : 09:17:37 AM
Polatics mainly. The auto makers just don't want to build EVs. Once the mandate ended, they promptly scrapped the program. It's all about stupidity, and trying to maintain the status quo in their business. What we need is a "start up" company to begin producing viable EVs. AC Propulsion is that company, it just needs funding to ramp up the production...

GM refuses to sell or lease the cars. They won't produce more because they keep saying there's "lack of demand". Yeah, right. Many owners of these cars were willing to sign disclaimers, pay 5x the regular price, etc. just to keep them. They actually had a massive EV-1 funeral in California.

Some of the cars were rendered inoperable and sent to schools, but most were simply crushed.

This is one of the many reasons I will never buy a GM product. They have destroyed probably the best production electric car ever made, and are now sweeping the whole thing under the rug.
